Also, just because they captured him in February 2002, WHEN were the plans of the plot discovered?

I personally think Francesco got the dates wrong.

Regardless, the memos are loaded with mentions of information obtained by enhanced interrogation, much of which is redacted.infonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14072474.post-5906640783614024022009-04-22T14:04:00.000-04:002009-04-22T14:04:00.000-04:00Yes, it both baffles and infuriates me that the "i...Yes, it both baffles and infuriates me that the "it worked" justification seems to be accepted at face value in the media and popular discussion of this topic. It runs completely counter to any claim of being a nation based on the rule of law. Why doesn't anyone in one of these Cheney interviews simply respond to his assertion with "So what? It's against the law." Allowing him and other torture supporters to reframe the debate around whether it works or not seems to be missing the point. It seems much more logical to me (and I am no lawyer nor a philosopher) that one would progress along a path of "it's against the law, we can't do that" to "let's change the law and make it legal" and then you can have the debate about whether it works or not. But the torture supporters just skip right over that and assume they are not breaking the law because it works which is nonsensical.MikeDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07481514748318770741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14072474.post-49563286829319798672009-04-22T12:03:00.000-04:002009-04-22T12:03:00.000-04:00It's a brave new world where the ends justify the ...It's a brave new world where the ends justify the means and you are guilty till proven innocent.
