Here, finally, is some
good news from Iraq. The marshlands are on their way to restoration thanks to Japanese engineers and UNEP. Al-Jazeera has the story. Is that good news that will make the US news since it's the UN creating the good news?
The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) said its satellite images showed that 37% of the permanent wetlands was now restored, with the figure nearing 50% in the spring before water evaporated with the summer heat.
