Frist for intelligent design

Bill Frist says (via Josh Marshall) he thinks intelligent design ought to be taught alongside evolution in public schools. Here's a question: will our kids grow up to be scientific morons because a guy who should know better finally decided that stem cell research was a social good, got bagged for it by the Christian right, and then had to make amends in order to keep his slim hopes of the presidency alive?
