Light posting

Sorry, very light posting today. I have a ton of work and am trying to make a couple of compilation cds of upbeat jazz from my lps for a friend's wedding dinner.

If you'd like some Saturday reading, take a look at John Dewey's Freedom and Culture, chapter 1:
"... to escape collective delusion - that totalitarianism rests upon external coercion alone."

As for the first cd, here's the running playlist, if you're interested (they wanted some funky stuff, but much of the funk fusion is bluesy and doesn't quite work for the occasion):

1. Pink Martini - Amado Mio
2. Nicola Conte - Bohemian's Dilemma
3. Cannonball Adderley and Milt Jackson - Groovin' High
4. Charlie Shavers Quartet - Lover
5. Horace Silver - Song for My Father
6. Gordon Beck & Helen Merrill - I Got It Good
7. Cal Tjader - Aleluia
8. Stan Getz & Charlie Byrd - O Pato
9. Grant Green - Hey, Western Union Man
10. Lou Donaldson - The Scorpion
11. Jimmy Rushing - I'm Walking Through Heaven With You
12. Carmen McRae - Them There Eyes
13. Dave Pike - Jet Set
