Dear blog readers

I'm a little out of commission these days. Back problems that have turned into a sciatica which has me a bit doped up. This should provide an opportunity for some psychedelic blogging, but I just can't sit in front of the keyboard. Surgery is coming up this week, and then I'll be fine. And I have a number of little essays in mind -- the promised one on the nature of international legitimacy, one on how to reconstruct a political program that separates the wheat from the chaff, and another slamming the sphere of political commentary we tend to react to, among others. Some will involve me acting,I'm afraid, like God or a demi-God, maybe like Mithras Roman god of vegetation or perhaps Ch'eng-Huang, Chinese god of walls and ditches. If ambitious, possibly even Haumia, god of uncultivated plants, although ideally I would be the Greek god, Bonus Eventus, god of success in enterprise.

Please stayed tuned. For now I'm doped up for pain prior to MRIs and surgery and being drawn-and-quartered, and not thinking terribly clearly about these prospects nor blogging. But who knows, maybe you'll get a Koolaid Bus post at some point. Fruit is definitely on the agenda.
