I don't think this is the first time he's run for governor, or if it is, he's been campaigning for a while.
At least, when he came to San Antonio a few months ago to campaign, the editors at the newspaper I worked for decided not to give him too much coverage, because they had already plastered him on the front page for his campaign a year before.
