Democracy by force

This PIPA study was released a few days ago. It surveys American views on the fundamental neo-con principle of war for democracy. I still insist that it is more precisely a war for economic and cultural liberalization -- neo-cons figure that "democracy" has a better public ring and is more easily convertible into capital. But Americans, according to the study, don't buy the war-for-democracy proposition. This is why Condoleeza Rice and others are out in force as talking heads promoting this basic neo-con tenet.
