Happy Birthday, Panhandle Slim

Here's a big birthday present for my Alaska-dwelling brother, Panhandle Slim: we're officially one step closer to opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for drilling. Woo-hoo. I'm sure this news is a big relief for those Exxon, et al, who suffered so during the last quarter.

Citgo still looks like the best option to me.

And I suspect I know how Jim Kunstler is going to respond to this news: he'll point out that all the hell we raise about how vile it is to go drilling in wildlife refuges is a handy way of avoiding our own complicity in drilling in wildlife refuges. But he's a better writer than I am. So keep your eyes on The Clusterfuck Nation Chronicle. While you're there, be sure to read the October 31 post.
