7x7 meme

I was tagged by Cheryl at Whirled View a while back re the 7x7 meme. I've been hopelessly remiss on actually doing it. It's not easy. So, I made it easier for myself. If you haven't seen this one yet, here are the original categories with my answers to my own lazy-assed tweaking of the originals in brackets. I have a lot of things I want to do before I die, a lot of things I can't do, too many loved books to list, and I don't like watching movies over and over. Cranky, I am.

1. Seven things to do before I die [out of hundreds]:
Drink several pints with Ray Davies.
Visit Bhutan.
Change the paradigm of globalization.
Buy a small chateau in the French countryside.
Write a truly great book.
Take a boat down the length of the Amazon River.
Enjoy quiet time with a pet monkey.

2. Seven things I cannot do [out of gazillions]:
Acrobatics.
Opera.
Visit Australia (Ray Davies' influence).
Visit Florida.
Cheerlead.
The bills.
Tolerate intolerance.

3. Seven things that attract me to... [the French]:
Having borrowed my ideas quite successfully.
Using butter.
Drinking wine at the age of eight.
Causing the US headaches.
Justifying one's own behavior by providing an entirely convoluted justification.
Aquiline proboscises.
Making me learn their language by refusing to speak my own.

4. Seven things I say most often:
Shit.
Nice.
Damnnnn.
Stupid asshole.
Democracy.
Huh.
Right?

5. Seven books (or series) that I love [seven randomly chosen books I love out of maybe 100 or 200 that I love]:
The Ruins of Paris (Réda)
Don Quixote (Cervantes)
Walden (Thoreau)
Essays (Emerson), in general
The Book of Tea (Okakura)
Letters to Milena (Kafka)
The Marriage of Cadmus and Harmony (Calasso)

6. Seven movies I watch over and over again (or would if I had time) [seven movies I've seen - sometimes again - in the past few years that I liked]
Old Boy (Park)
Grizzly Man
(Herzog)
My Best Fiend (Herzog)
We Don't Live Here Any More (Curran)
Talk to Her (Almod
óvar)
Finding Neverland (Forster)
The Ipcress File (Furie)

7. Seven people I want to join in, too [if'n they want, and with apologies]:
Barba de Chiva
Flaco Delgado
Rollo Groast
Neil Shakespeare
O de Potomac
Lindsey Beyerstein
Bobby Lightfoot
