Congrats to Barba and his Mountaineers for their spectacular fall from in front victory in the NOKIA sugar bowl. But I kid, it was a great game with the Mountaineers shocking the Bulldogs in the first half followed by Georgia living up to its name by showing some pretty fierce tenaciousness. A very tricky end-of-the-fourth quarter faked punt by the Mountaineers ensured their 38-35 victory. Well done, underdog West Virginia. On a more serious and oddly incongruous note, hopefully the rescue efforts for the trapped miners in Buckhannon, W. Va. will quickly prove as successful.
On a completely unrelated and even more incongruous note, as soon as the game coverage here was over, the tv cut away to some really nasty singing and dancing kids group named "Pop Shop." I almost cried out it was so horrifying. I was frozen by the sight long enough to discover that it was coverage of the "Citrus Bowl Parade" in Orlando, complete with a fake family with nasty kids of their own to tell us how great Orlando is. For some reason, Helmut doesn't want to visit Florida. That's because Helmut hates children, families, wholesome fun and sunshine. Helmut is a mean, mean man. But we wish his Nittany Lions good luck tomorrow anyway.

The whole Sugar Bowl experience was kind of confusing for us Mountaineer fans, but, you're right, most disturbing and disorienting was the singing kids at the rebroadcast Citrus Bowl Parade. Positively chilling.
No, it's the "Think Outside the Bun Taco Bell Citrus Bowl Parade/Greater Orlando Tourism Board Infomercial w/the Worst Announcers and Grand Marshal a Parade/Infomercial Has ever Had?"
