"She" is our Secretary of State. And She is talking about Venezuela. Of course She believes this. It is natural and true. And it has always been so.
Other things She said: New charges against the leaders of the opposition group Sumate are a "kangaroo trial." And Her candor hurts us, but we should also face this truth: She knows of what She speaks. She has been watching closely. And She has seen Democracy weakened by abuses of the court system, by indefinite detentions of citizens, by the suspension of habeas corpus. And She has observed that, we injudiciously invited kangaroos unto our own shores to fix a snake problem; and She has seen their proliferation here, and their wrath, and their tenacity.
Banality, thy name is Condoleezza.
