Drunken credibility

Two nice pieces from Dwight at Wampum.

Start with this one on credibility. I posted on this ("The Cult of W") several months ago. Replace the term "faith" there with "trust" here, and it amounts to almost the same thing; that is, except the the important supernatural ingredient in the word "faith." Dwight does a bang-up job of documenting some recent rightwing grumblings about the loss of trust in the Bush administration.

Now, having made a mess of everything else as if they were falling-down drunk, they get falling-down drunker and shoot up their buddies too. This is the direction for wild speculation that seems most entertaining to me. Let the flames burn brightly!

Never, ever, trust an armed drunk.

UPDATE:

Lindsay catches Cheney pissing on a fence.

He was stewed. What other reason could he have for avoiding the cops the evening of the shooting. That, "Oh, we already made an appointment for tomorrow morning!" shit doesn't wash. And he'll get away with it, too. Massive stinkin' coverup...and now I see the guy's had a heart attack when a pellet entered his heart. Nice, huh?

If Whittington dies, does Cheney get "manslaughter"?

of course not. It's Whittington's fault in the first place, having a heart. That on top of standing in the middle of Cheney's lead pellets flight path.

Actually, I believe it was not that the heart got in the way, but that the bloodstream was flowing. This is, of course, due to the heart functioning properly in the first place (plus the existence of gravity). Thus, if Whittington were already dead, this incident would not have happened.
