His hope is that Italy will fall once again for his exuberance, a trait that Mr Prodi, his understated and professorial foe, singularly lacks.
But Mr Berlusconi has good reason to divert attention from his record....

Easy target Silvio
This is an easy target, but another juxtaposition post.... Consider American treatment of Berlusconi (one of the Iraq coalition partners after all - this got mention on the Olympics coverage last night) next to the treatment of Chavez. Consider who is the greater buffoon and power-hungry demagogue (and, remember, Berlusconi really does own the media):

Perhaps if he can get The Terminator to run as his vice -minister or whatever they have? The ultimate Spectacular Ticket!
Like our leader, he has probably thwarted hundreds of terrorist attacks with a single bound and thats all that really counts.
