Earlier this week, the L.A. Times reported that the U.S. military’s internal investigation had decided it was just fine to continue paying the Lincoln Group to produce fake news stories and slip envelopes full of you know what to Iraqi journalists to print those stories sans USG attribution. Clearly doesn’t matter that USAID is simultaneously supposed to be teaching Iraqi journalists professional ethics that negate said practice.
