Dahab is a classic Lonely Planet destination, so seemingly it's shoe-string tourists and the native service providers that the bombers blew up. Makes me think they chose their site as much or more as a site of contamination by Western decadence (topless Euro bathers) than to get at the most tourists and dollars. Also perhaps Dahab is relatively low security...being Krabi to Sharm el Sheik's Phuket, if you know what I mean.
