Mannion:

Baseball season starts tomorrow at 1:10 PM at Shea Stadium.

I think there's some confusion about this. Out in Chicago they've got something going on tonight, some sort of exhibition game maybe.

Must be the last game of spring training.

Baseball season does not begin on a Sunday night, ever.

Baseball season begins on a sunny spring afternoon on a weekday so that fans can blow off work to go to the game.

Everybody knows this.

Bud Selig should apologize to White Sox fans for the mix-up.

The season has been opening on Sunday night for some years now. I like it. This way, I get to watch even more baseball (though I admit to turning to "The Sopranos" not long after the Sox scored some runs).

Of course, tonight's runs seem likely not to count. The weather delay has already been quite loooooong.

In any case, a real purist would know that opening day is always in Cincy.

Well, Rodger, I beg to differ. Opening Day clearly takes place in San Diego.
