The French protests

This is one of the better articles I've seen on the protests in France. Forget the buffoons in the WaPo or NY Times who repeat the same old canards about French protest season, spoiled students, French puffiness, the inconvenience of streets being blocked off, etc. Read something real. This one, courtesy of the mighty Dissent.

Also, see this article on Ségolène Royal, the elegant Socialist who may very well become the first female president of France. She's good. I saw this earlier this year while in France. But she's also under fire from the old male guard, including from her own party. It's an interesting show. Keep an eye on it.
