Oh, Scarlett

For Lance. Love, Helmut. (Or was that Uma?).

Lord God....
Scarlett Johansson has denied claims that diva-like demands led Britain's most famous theater producer to drop plans to hand her the lead role in a big-budget revival of "The Sound Of Music," a spokesman for the actress said Thursday.

Johansson, 21, had been targeted to play Maria von Trapp, the Alpine nun-turned-nanny and main character of the popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that will open in London's West End this November.

You know how I feel about Scarlett, but I think she caught a break there.

Her agent ought to be out front on this. Any role that a young Julie Andrews might have played, Scarlett is so not right for.

Now, if they do a revival of Promises, Promises, she might be ok as a young Shirely MacLaine type.

"Did you hear me, Miss Kubilik? I absolutely adore you."

"Shut up and deal."

Well, Lance. I am most definitely with you on Scarlett.

Scarlett is naughty. Julie Andrews? The anti-septic anti-naughty.

I'd like to see Scarlett update Barbara Stanwyck's roles or Ava Gardner's. She has that kind of depth and beauty.
