French Vote

A big vote today in France to see who the Socialists present as their presidential contender. They have a very good chance at winning the presidency (likely against the polarizing Nicolas Sarkozy), so the vote today could be the broader deciding vote. Ségolène Royal (see, also her blog) leads the pre-election polls by a wide margin (at 66% to Dominique Strauss-Kahn's 24% and Laurent Fabius' 10%), and may very well be on her way to becoming the first female president of France. She'll also be an international superstar.

We should have results in about 6-8 hours.

UPDATE (8:20pm): She won at 60.62% (as of about five minutes ago).
