Veteran's Day

I don't normally do much for Veteran's Day except maybe something having to do with my birthday, since we share the same date (I'm off to see a man about a new bicycle, thanks to Helmette).

But it's only appropriate today to pay respect to people who have died in the thousands on one side and perhaps hundreds of thousands on another side for one of history's greatest acts of stupidity. We, all we smart high-tech, well-educated and supposedly literate people have been living through this greatest act of stupidity. Many supported it. Shame on you. That's a hell of a lot of dead people for naught.

May those of you doing the bidding of others make it to the status of "veteran."

And to a veteran of birthdays, let me wish happiness.

Happy birthday. I don't think we should have to count any birthdays from the past 6 years. Think of it as a legal way to roll back your odometer.
