That's all the U.S. State Department can say at this point, really, as far as advocating for us. Comes off fishy though unaccompanied by a resignation. "Me? Yes, this is State and the service is open for foreign relations--in fact we're hard at it right now figuring which way to fuck you over next--but we've closed our public window. We really just have to think about us right now. In the mean time, we just ask that you think about the people you know from American television and the movies. That's really what it's all about, isn't it?"
