I'm delighted to be able to watch the lights of Santa Fe go off while I eat breakfast and go on when I eat dinner. And the mornings seem longer. I'm a morning person, so I like that.
I've been wondering all weekend why the teabaggers haven't taken Daylight Saving Time as one of their causes. It's an intervention right down into our personal lives: when we get out of bed in the morning, the government is there.
And besides, in the interests of individualism, we all should have our own times. Because the country is divided up into four time zones, we are regimented into particular times, even though, for most of us, that means that Noon Is Not When The Sun Is Directly Overhead!
It's a damn shame, I say.
