It's good to see pushback coming from the conservatives, too, in response to Liz Cheney's McCarthyism. Hopefully we can nip this in the bud.
Seems like overreach is the theme of this week. Bibi Netanyahu welcomed Joe Biden with an announcement of more illegal settlements, in his face. Biden responded with a strong condemnation. I think that those who are calling for Obama to take some action are missing the point, though. Biden took note and stated the American position. What would those who are emphasizing the "insult" aspect of Netanyahu's announcement have Obama do? Slap Netanyahu's face with a glove and challenge him to a duel? Put economic sanctions on Israel? Maybe it's better to let others observe and condemn Israel's action. Too much action from the US government might just lead to the usual circular firing squad arguing whether the action is too much or not enough, what its long-term consequences will be, blah blah blah. Didn't we call them the 101st Fighting Keyboarders when they were on the right a few years back?
Update: Ezra Klein also wonders about the "toughness" frame. And Steve Benen gives us more links on the pushback at Liz Cheney.

No "aid" dollars. Fairly simple.
