Yet More Bits and Pieces - August 5, 2010

The strangeness of Dr. Kevin Pezzi, Breitbart's anti-Sherrod writer.

Bad times in Russia - and for the rest of the world that eats grain.

UFOs in Britain.

More aurora - but too far north for me.

Could we do without mosquitos?

Bending the curve.

And I probably should add in the good news from yesterday and today, which everyone has heard by now: U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker struck down the Proposition 8 takeaway of marriage rights for gay Americans. It seems that we can't vote to take away the rights of people we don't like. Unfortunately, this decision will be appealed by people who want to do that. And congratulations to Justice Elena Kagan! The Senate managed to squeak some business through before heading off to vacation. I'm glad to see two women now on the Supreme Court.

Eeek! You're right. I forgot Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg!

My apologies.
