Banville wins Booker Prize

A day of surprise prizes. I'm a big fan of John Banville, the Irish writer who has just won the Booker in an apparent upset of Ian McEwan, Julian Barnes, and Kazuo Ishiguro. If you don't know his work, give The Untouchable a try. It may not be his very best, but it at least turned me on to his books. A terrific novel.
