Dead

The Washington Post reports today that a new estimate of deaths in Iraq places the number around 655,000 since the US invasion in 2003. This number is in addition to the normal mortality rate in Iraq.

655,000 dead. For a mistake. For a lie. At some point, somewhere, someone has to say "The Hague."
Of the total 655,000 estimated "excess deaths," 601,000 resulted from violence and the rest from disease and other causes, according to the study. This is about 500 unexpected violent deaths per day throughout the country.

this of course, is the same Washington Post that buried the Lancet study in October 2004, what with that pesky election going on.

America seems to be hurtling head-on towards...I'm not sure what, but it will take millions for quite a loop.

Right now, the Democrats are too scared to even sign on to Feingold's censure resolution. What a bizarre country we live in.
